The Carrier Net consists of a friendly group of Ham Radio operators who meet on 3935 kcs Monday through Saturday at 9:00 A.M. Carrier Net members are mostly from Northeastern USA. All licensed amateurs are welcome.
WA2HXX, Peter Merlow and W1KKD started the net in 1967 for amateurs on Amplitude Modulation – with "carrier signals." Over the years, the net operation moved to Single Side Band.
There is a different Net Control Station each day and a daily net usually consists of approximately 25 to 35 participants. Prior to net time, a pre-net group assembles for general discussion and solves many of the "world's problems."
At the present time, there are over 300 members listed on our Carrier Net Full Roster. Across the years some of our ''old timers'' have become ''silent keys.''
To become a member, send a log of five check-ins (with dates and NCS callsigns) to the net manager and request membership. This can be done by USPS or email. In return, you will be placed on our membership roster and will receive a membership certificate (see sample) suitable for framing.
